The ongoing task of developing talented people requires many kinds of conversations. No matter how effective you are as a coach and manager you will face situations that require tough conversations. In fact, working with hard-working, high-achieving, committed people requires challenging conversations if they and you are to continue to grow and excel. Coaching for Challenging Conversations provides participants with a road map to effectively handle challenging conversations, the skills needed to use the map, and the self-management tools needed to access those skills when the pressure is on. Participants will explore the key factor in tackling difficult conversations successfully and with confidence: the disciplined use of specific communication skills.
Coaching for Challenging Conversations was designed for three main groups: managers who want to further improve their coaching ability, leaders who want to challenge people in a productive way that builds trust and confidence, and people working in teams who need to positively resolve differences with each other.
A comprehensive workbook containing reference materials and exercises, a map for how to prepare and deliver a challenging conversation, and a self-assessment profile and tips to assist participants every step of the way. Participants will also receive a preparation and planning tool that will help them transfer the skills they have learned back to the office.
